Trigonostigma heteromorpha is a very peaceful schooling fish ideal in a large group of 8 or more for a community aquarium.
Housing and Feeding
The harlequin rasbora will do well with most typical community fish and in both planted and unplanted tanks. If choosing an unplanted environment, furnish well with twigs, rocks and leaf litter for a natural look with hiding places. It doesn’t like very harsh lighting so some floating plants to provide shade are a good idea. This fish is an unfussy feeder, taking dry foods and the occasional treat of live or frozen foods.
Trigonostigma heteromorpha will spawn almost continuously in the right conditions, placing its eggs on the underside of plant leaves. In a community, most, if not all eggs and fry will be eaten so for successful breeding a dedicated spawning tank should be used, removing the fish once eggs are present.
